I’ve posted before how much I love being a member of A Fresh Bunch.  Seriously, one of the smartest moves I’ve made for my business and me.  One of the best things about this group, besides the truly helpful, noncompetitive spirit, is their licensing program.  I won’t get into the details of it here, but if you interested to learn more, click here.  So, the first licensing project came from Frecklebox which I knew was right up my alley and I jumped at the chance to submit a few designs.  I went nuts on this project and kept designing even when I had plenty of other work to do, but I couldn’t help it.  I was just enjoying it way too much.

To make a very long story short….after a few of us submitted designs, Frecklebox picked the final group and they are available on their website now!  There’s an excellent assortment and variety of our designs in the placemat, stickers, and puzzles categories and all just in time for the holidays.  This Ornaments design was fun to do and I think it’s perfect for any age!  I think you’ll agree that you’ll struggle to pick a favorite!  Enjoy!

Hello!  I’ll make this short and to the point and it’s a sweet deal so you have to check it out…

Yes, I still exist despite the fact that my last post was…oh whatever.  It’s been awhile!

Busy.  Very busy.  Yes, I realize what an excuse this sounds like.  Fortunately, unfortunately (however you want to see it), it’s the truth.

I decided several months ago to expand My Lucky Wish into something a little different and it’s paid off in so many ways.   I have been fortunate enough to connect with some ridiculously talented designers who absolutely love the ‘design’ part of their careers but unfortunately get bogged down in the ‘production’ part of things.  This means that they don’t share their work on new products and that’s a shame.   I love to design and with the different opportunities I have including My Lucky Wish, I get to do a lot of it.  But oddly enough, I also enjoy the production side as well.  I like the process of finding the raw materials, making sure the quality is exactly perfect, perfecting the combination and adding a great design to end up with a fabulous final product.  So after a few designers asked where some My Lucky Wish products were made, I answered honestly and said…..it’s done in-house.  One thing led to another and now I get to see those designers’ fabulous, original designs on some of our products.  They design, we do the ‘dirty’ work.  I really have a wild appreciation for other designers’ art and designs regardless of my personal tastes.  The whole thing is different and the designers love the ease of it.  I’m pretty sure I’m getting more out of it than they are because I get to work with them and their beautiful art.

On a different note…

I had a dear friend tell me about a business owner that has made some incredibly unprofessional and sometimes libelous and slanderous comments recently.  While I could really care less about the specifics of the comments and happen to know some specific truths of some of them, I’m troubled by them for another reason.  I want, need and hope our customers, our fabulous retailers, our Facebook friends and Twitter followers know that your comments are always welcome.  Feel free to disagree, offer some constructive criticism, give your opinion and I promise you will never get a degrading, bullying, humiliating or mean response in return.  I am far from the perfect business owner, but I know this…any business owner that truly values building and maintaining relationships with their customers and not just their dollars would never make disparaging remarks about a customer for all to see.  There’s a way to handle every situation, even if you might be right, and something tells me that’s just not the way to go.

You know we couldn’t do it without you so a very big thank you to all of you!!
